Station Twelve

Jesus Dies(All kneel silently for a brief moment)

V. We adore you O Christ, and we praise you.
R. Because by your holy cross, you have redeemed the world.

Reading: (John 19:28-30)

That the scriptures might be fulfilled Jesus said: I thirst. A bowl of vinegar stood there; so they put a sponge of vinegar on hyssop and held it to his mouth. When jesus had received the vinegar, he said, “it is finished”, and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Christ Speaks

Now, the cross has become a pulpit. Listen to the good news I proclaim from it: “Forgive them, father; You will be with me in paradise; There is your mother, there your son; I thirst; It is complete.

Congregation

Lord Jesus, what can I say or do? I offer you my death. I accept now the time and kind of death in store for me. I offer you my death for my own sins and those of all my fellowmen.

Glory be to the Father...

V. Forgive us our sins, O Lord!
R. Forgive us our sins!
V. May the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
R. Amen.

Hymn

Fac me tecum pie flere,
Crucifíxo condolére,
Donec ego víxero.

Let me mingle tears with thee,
Mourning him who mourned for me,
All the days that I may live.
